Creating and Formatting Precedents

Create a new Precedent

Copy and paste text from anywhere into a new Precedent. With all formatting removed, start breaking your document into appropriate blocks.

Available Precedent View Fields.

While we will cover how to work with Precedents in a future chapter, the Precedent View allows you to display all or some of the following fields:

  1. Title
  2. Modified
  3. Created
  4. Word count
  5. Character count
  6. Document count
  7. Created by
  8. Precedent Type (Document, Package or Form)
  9. Usage count

Format the Precedent

You can add the date of the document and any notes to the notes section which is accessed by clicking on the pencil icon at the top right of the page. Notes can be pinned to the document so that the viewer will see the notes immediately.

*Something to Note: Currently, you cannot collaborate with another person in the same document at the same time.
