Generating Precedents & Documents: Working with Documents

Generating Precedents & Documents

Welcome to the MinuteBox Precedent engine. At your fingertips is the most advanced legal document generation platform in the world. We take the power of MinuteBox’s database and extend it to completely new capabilities – like drafting legal documents, letters and even annotating PDFs.

No-Code Document Generation.

To our core, we believe that secure, enterprise technology can learn a lot from some of our favourite "no-code" consumer apps.

Type away, the MinuteBox Way.

While we'll never ask you to use complicated {{SYNTAX}}, HTML or other coding language, it will take some adjustment. Your precedents will only appear in the firm's style format once you export the document. For those familiar with web building using a WYSIWYG editor, each precedent should be considered the "text" page that shows you the back-end code (in our case, the chosen formatting, fill-ins and slots) and the exported page is the front-end display. Your finished document is always the exported Word document.

Working With Documents

Each View is displayed, filtered, and ordered completely unique to you. The data displayed on each View is a summation of all the data available for this view. As a result, the default view is generally the most utilized MinuteBox View.

Creating a New Entity

When you create a new Entity, it is completely empty. You can think of a blank entity as a blank canvas for you to enter any information related to any legal entity you’d like to track and report on in The Dashboard.

Give your entity a name.

When you add in an entity name, you are telling MinuteBox you are creating a new entity and it will add changes to the file. By default, when you add information into MinuteBox, it will set a transaction date.

Working with an Existing Entity

Upon opening MinuteBox, you will see the main Dashboard. This view usually displays the Recently Modified entities by default. Simply click on Every Entity to see the entire list of entities in your account.
